Mukasey gives Filip the Randolph Award

Outgoing AG Mukasey this morning in his farewell remarks bestowed the Randolph Award on his deputy, Mark Filip, who gave up a federal judgeship in Chicago to take over the post at a time of crisis for DOJ and served less than a year in the job.  ”The highest award I can bestow on a department employee,” Mukasey said. Clinton-era receipients include three former DOJ officials nominated to lead the department in the Obama administration: Eric HolderDavid Ogden and Dawn Johnsen.
