Gonzales Will Attend White House Correspondents’ Dinner
By Andrew Ramonas | May 8, 2009 2:22 pm

Former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales will be back in town at the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner tomorrow night, Washington Post blogger Mary Ann Akers reported on The Sleuth today. Gonzales is the confirmed guest of his hometown newspaper, The Houston Chronicle, Akers said.

Since he was driven out of Main Justice almost two years ago, Gonzales hasn’t had too many commitments that would prevent him from grabbing a bite to eat in D.C. He is still unemployed and looking for a job, but he could soon be tied up with the numerous calls by Congress for an investigation into the Bush Justice Department’s authorization of the harsh interrogation techniques used against suspected terrorists.

But for now he has a free schedule, and will be able to enjoy a $200-per-plate dinner.
