FBI Launches Probe of Online Test-Takers

Posted By Ryan J. Reilly On November 4, 2009 @ 12:46 pm In News | Comments Disabled

The FBI has launched an internal investigation into allegations that high ranking individuals in the Washington, D.C., field office worked on an online test together rather than individually, Tickle The Wire [1] reports. (Does this mean they lack Integrity [2]?)

The test was on  the bureau’s Domestic Investigation and Operations Guide (DIOG), and is given to all FBI agents including FBI Director Robert Mueller III and to some support staff on the operational side.

The test is an open book exam, but can be time consuming and requires that it be done individually.

The DIOG establishes FBI internal procedures, and lays out Attorney General Eric Holder’s rules for domestic intelligence gathering policies, which are posted on the FBI’s Web site [3].

Steve Bagley contributed to this report.
