The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a Justice Department oversight hearing with Attorney General Eric Holder on March 23, the panel announced Wednesday.

Holder has appeared at two DOJ oversight hearings held by the committee thus far. He last testified before the committee on Nov. 18.

At the November hearing, the Attorney General defended his decision to try self-proclaimed Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four of his alleged accomplices in a New York City federal court. The Washington Post reported last week that aides to President Obama are close to recommending that the terrorism suspects be tried before a military commission instead of in a civilian court.
