California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) on Tuesday appointed a former federal prosecutor to the Commission on Judicial Performance, according to a news release [1]. The appointment was one of 30 the governor made on Tuesday.
Anthony Capozzi was an Assistant U.S. Attorney based in Fresno from 1973 to 1979. He left the Eastern District of California office to start his own practice, which he still runs. Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s office he was a law clerk for the U.S. District Court Southern District of Illinois from 1970 to 1973.
The commission is an independent state agency that is responsible for investigating complaints of judicial misconduct and judicial incapacity and for disciplining judges. Capozzi will not receive a salary for his work on the commission.
