Arizona U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke has named John Evans as a senior adviser, radio station KTAR reported ^[2] Monday.

Evans has served in the Arizona Attorney General’s office since 1979 and has been chief of the Criminal Trials Unit for the past 15 years. He is also an adjunct assistant professor at University of Arizona School of Law, where he teaches courses on white collar crime.

“John Evans has had a distinguished career as a prosecutor and as a key member of the law enforcement community,” Burke told KTAR. “He brings a wealth of legal and trial experience to the office and he will play a critical role in Southwest border issues and strategies. I look forward to working with him to address the border problems and their complexities.”
