A bank robber has pleaded guilty to assaulting a federal prosecutor, the Greensboro News-Record reported.

Christopher O’Neal Patterson on Oct. 14 was sentenced to 62 years in prison for a series of bank robberies. After his sentencing, Patterson lunged at a female Assistant U.S. Attorney, striking her with his body and spitting on her before being tackled by U.S. Marshals.

The federal prosecutor is from the Middle District of North Carolina; however, the case was handled by the Eastern District of North Carolina. Her name was not immediately available.
