A former Federal Trade Commission official and one other are headed to Steptoe & Johnson LLP, expanding the firms global antitrust and competition practice.
Andrew Lee and Edward Schwartz are joining the firm’s Washington office as partners, according to a news release.
Lee, who previously worked at the Federal Trade Commission, will be involved in expanding the firm’s Korea practice. At the FTC, Lee worked on several merger investigations in the retail, energy, e-commerce and telecommunications industries. In private practice, he has focused on antitrust compliance, criminal defense and antitrust violation litigation.
Schwartz specializes in representing clients in antitrust investigations conducted by federal and state regulators. He has focused on antitrust claims, price discrimination and conspiratorial and unilateral conduct.
“I am honored to join Steptoe,” Lee said in the news release. “The firm’s renowned reputation across key government and regulatory practices, including antitrust and anti-corruption, should provide significant benefits and synergies to further grow my practice and client base.”
