Attorney General Eric Holder said Thursday that Justice Department’s probe into the Gulf oil spill was looking into more than just the actions of BP, Politico reported.
“There are a variety of entities and a variety of people who are the subjects of that investigation,” Holder said. “For people to conclude that BP is the focus of this investigation might not be correct.”
Holder’s remarks were part of an interview with CBS’s Bob Schieffer as part of the Aspen Ideas Festival in Colorado. Holder emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and said that there was “certain commonality of the way oil companies had been operating.”
Holder’s full interview — in which he discussed the DOJ’s lawsuit against Arizona, closing Guantanamo Bay, and the Russian spy case — will air on CBS’s “Face the Nation” Sunday.
