The former Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division in the U.S. Attorney’s office in the Eastern District of New York has joined Crowell & Moring LLP, the firm said Monday.
Kelly T. Currie will become a partner in the White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement Group in the firm’s New York office.
Currie spent 11 years in the Brooklyn-based U.S. Attorney’s office, most recently as the Deputy Chief of the office’s Criminal Division. He also previously served as the Chief of the office’s terrorism section. During his time with the office, Currie prosecuted cases involving securities fraud, wire and mail fraud, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act matters.
Before joining the DOJ, Currie was a senior adviser to former Sen. George J. Mitchell.
“Crowell & Moring has a world class white collar and regulatory enforcement practice. I’m excited to join a group of exceptionally talented lawyers at a firm that has demonstrated its commitment to client service and collegial culture even in the course of dramatic growth,” Currie said in a statement.
